Birds of Prey: And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quin is more than just its pretty interesting title!
The colorful spin-off of Suicide Squad already promises to be exciting, with loads of gleeful violence, NSFW language, and the spice of an ‘extra’ as far as the trailers can tell!
If you’re not already excited, here are five reasons, to see Birds Of Prey at the cinemas this weekend.
1.) The Reliable Margot Robbie:
For all of the poor reviews that Suicide Squad managed to earn from movie critics, Margot Robbie’s performance as ‘Harley Quinn’ in the movie was generally agreed to be the crowd pleaser.
Her stand out role play brought all of the buzz that has ensured that the character now has a dedicated following.
With Margot reprising her role in Birds Of Prey, we can only expect more wicked humor, carefree charm and an overall entertaining experience.
2.) Tight Action Sequences:
As you may have noticed, the Birds Of Prey trailer features a number of interesting action sequences.
Considering that’s just the trailer, we are in for an action treat spanning the run time of the entire movie!
What’s interesting is that John Wick director, ‘Chad Stahelski‘ was brought in to help execute its fight scenes, replicating the experience and most probably, the successes that the John Wick franchise has come to be known for.
As we all can tell, who doesn’t love an action-packed narrative with lots of wicked humor and things blowing up and…
You get the idea!!
3. The New Craving for Villains:
The Bad guys of yore are now the new good guys. Consider the modest and mega hits scored by villain-based movies such as Venom, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and Joker!
Its because retelling their stories often makes them more human – thus bringing new angles that unearths things we all can understand and resonate with!
The same idea is what Birds Of Prey attempts to drive home – a humane side to the once upon a time outright baddie!
4.) Not One But Many Villains:
So Birds of Prey is basically a union of villains on the seemingly good and outright bad side of things!
On the good side, we have Harley Quinn, Huntress, Black Canary and Renee Montoya. The Bad side features Roman Sionis and Zsasz.
That is a whole lot of worthy names each of which could hold their own pretty well on any given day.
It would be interesting to see how well the plot of Birds of Prey weaves in all of these characters to produce this Crime-Action.
Given the popularity of ‘multi-hero’ films such as, Justice League, Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame among many others, we get the idea that Birds of Prey would do well following the same trail…
5.) Movie Critics Love Birds Of Prey:
#BirdsofPrey is a ridiculous and rad superhero film. The fight scenes are phenomenal and the villains are delicious. It shouldn't have taken this long to get the Birds of Prey on film but it was a lot of fun.
