Since then, he has featured in a deluge of movies and seems to have etched for himself, a comfortable niche where he remains a Nigerian TV favorite.
The Early Years
Tobi Bakre is the last of 4 children born to Mr and Mrs. Femi Bakre. He graduated from the University of Lagos with a Bachelors degree in Banking and Finance.
Tobi’s focus in Finance, saw him work in the industry taking up roles in The Office of the Accountant General as well as in a Bank.
He later began photography due to his passion for it and the need for an extra income.
Tobi would then decide to quit banking and explore his more creative side. That journey would eventually lead him to acting.
His Acting Career
Since leaving the Big Brother Naija show, Tobi’s forays into acting has seen him play major roles in TV series including MTV’s Shuga and Africa Magic’s Hustle.
He is also in the recent Ghollywood movie ‘Fix Us‘ [currently in cinemas] where he plays the lover of one of the three ladies at the centre of the story.
During his time in the BBN house, Tobi was known for his rocky affair with Cee-C, the equally popular BBN Season 3 housemate, which did not last the length of the show.
He seemed to enjoy a better relationship with Alex – another housemate that starred in the recent December blockbuster – Merry Men 2, but both has since denied any affair and have maintained to anyone who cared to know, that they are just ‘good friends‘.
Tobi recently stated in an interview that he is not in a relationship with anyone and hinted that his major concerns for now, rests more on the fulfillment of his many other dreams.
Tobi Bakre being relatively new on the acting scene has not bagged any awards yet.
But just as he has made known on his Instagram story, his eyes are set on the prestigious ‘Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards'(AMVCA) and we believe he has all the potential to achieve that feat and more!
Watch Tobi Bakre as he continues to prove doubters wrong in the Ghollywood January release – ‘Fix Us‘, currently showing at VIVA Cinemas, nationwide.
